A comparison of Little Cog-Bert & Cotton Candy

The two stories present two primary ladies, Moira and Lola. To look at the two, you see them both existing in "man versus self" clashes inside their individual stories. Also, similar to their accounts, the creators share some data on their experience; contrasting the creators' summations can help and understanding the associations between Little Cogbert and Cotton Sweets.

The creator of Little Cogbert is Phyllis Shand Allfrey. She starts from the island of Dominica, the area of where her story happens. In a to some degree comparable style, Dora Alonso, creator of Cotton Sweets, hails from Cuba, which sets the setting in this story. The contention in Little Cogbert is progressively outside, as Moira was not for the altogether different kids she set up a gathering for; her xenophobic nature was particularly communicated towards Cogbert, the single kid who valued Moira's blessing from the begin. The contention in Cotton Treat is somewhat inward: It's underlined in this story that Lola has experienced much difficulty with finding a spouse to wed because of her domineering mother. With the inevitable going of her mom's passing, Lola feels a "alleviating remorse". Lola later acknowledges she can in any case discover love, despite her age and appearance, as she's is reminded of her young and innocent youth.

Tétiyette and the Devil

Tétiyette and the Devil is a short story based on a young lady in scan for a spouse to wed. The creator, who stays mysterious, presents different fundamental messages, including recognizing those of power and recognizing that things may not be what they appear.

One of the central matters in this short story would be Tétiyette's cooperations with the "Devil", or her degenerate spouse to-be. Her mom tends to the man's shrewd nature and tells Tétiyette, "At night after you go to bed, you will stick your husband with [a pin]. If blood flows, he's a human being, but if slime oozes, he's a devil."  She later finds that the man is for sure a demon, and keeps reality mystery from whatever is left of her family. This demonstrates the primary good message of following legitimate heading to be valid.

Later in the story, Tétiyette winds up in a crises as she's being eaten entire by the devilish spouse; she has resisted her folks and now faces the severe outcomes of remaining with the villain. She shouts out: "Oh, Mama! Oh, Mama! ... The man to whom you married me...is a terrible devil! ... He's eating me up!" Not all things are what it is by all accounts, the creator passes on.

By and by, this short story paints an exceptionally clear picture in my mind about the ethics displayed. It's a superb medium to convey data on the methods for story. Using what I have learned from this it can add to my knowledge about the Caribbean culture.

About Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe

Located in the Leeward Islands, Guadeloupe has two main islands with numerous smaller ones. Visitors are attracted to the coral reefs and numerous beaches of white sand from Grande-Terre and black volcanic sand in Basse-Terre. Though Basse-Terre is the capital of the island, the main tourist area is located in Grande-Terre. The island is a territory of France with a mixture of European, African and Indian culture. The main transport onto the island is through the Guadeloupe Airport as well as a number of boats and ferries, but the island does have a great system of highways allowing for the ease of inter modal transport. However, these pristine beaches, beautiful trails, and 5 star resorts were not the center of attention for Columbus. It was 'discovered' by Christopher Columbus on November 4th, 1493. It was originally called it Karukéra, or the island of beautiful islands. immediately following his self proclaimed 'discovery' Columbus named the island after the famous sanctuary of Santa Maria de Guadalupe de Estremadura. He quickly noticed that there wasn't any precious metals to be found, so the Europeans lost interest in Guadeloupe's colonization.

A Little About me

My name is Parker Waters and I am a freshman at Georgia Gwinnett College. My main goal here is to get good grades and collect enough grants and scholarships to transfer to the home of the "Dawgs", The University of Georgia in pursuit of my major in digital cinematography. I love capturing moments that were intended, and some that happen naturally, and be able to edit those into works of art for other people to view. I am such a nerd when it comes to filming and editing videos that I was actually the film manager for the 2017 Region 6 7AAAAAAA state champs, North Gwinnett High School. This part of my life sky rocketed my career by allowing me to create original content each week to amp up the school and the players for that Friday nigh under the lights. However, i used to be on the other side of the camera. I got the amazing opportunity to live a partial life as a child actor. I was in several TV shows, as well as a Grammy award winning movie, The Blind Side. All this to say, who knew i would end up in a language arts class about the Caribbean.
